Luigi Calabretta's Serfunghi Calabria was born in 1964 when our father returned from France and began marketing fresh and semi-finished mushrooms. The company is located within the Serre Calabre national park, in the locality of Serra San Bruno, known for the Carthusian abbey that stands there. At 790 meters above sea level, in the heart of present-day central-southern Calabria, Bruno di Colonia (1030 ca. - 6.X.1101) founded in 1091, in fact, the hermitage of Santa Maria del Bosco, better known as the Certosa di Serra San Bruno.
